Aren't familiar with the Martingale style? The first loop looks like a traditional collar that is adjustable and hangs around the dog’s neck. The second is for control when the leash is attached. When the dog pulls, the collar tightens and will stay snug around your dog’s neck. When the tension is released, the collar loosens again. This distributes pressure more evenly for comfort plus prevents those wily pups from slipping out.

A little 10 minute soak in the sink or a bucket with warm water and a bit of laundry detergent works great! Give it a good rinse and hang it to dry.

Had this collar for about 2 weeks with a strong Pit Bull type dog who is a puller. Sometimes we put her out side on a runner for exercise. Unfortunately this collar broke while she was pulling while walking and ran away! Luckily I had another collar on her and she listens well… I wouldn’t be paying $40.00 for a collar that last two weeks. I’ll stick with Wolfgang collars: I just wanted to try a different options with a different style, but I will not stray away from a product I’m familiar with ever again.

Not impressed
While I always choose to buy what’s made in the US I was a little disappointed in this product maybe because the collar itself is just too wide and I clearly ordered the wrong size but much to my surprise it wasn’t returnable!! Now I paid more for this product (yes it was on sale but still more expensive than other brands) at least expecting to be able to exchange it for a different size, but no. I absolutely love the pattern and maybe my dog will eventually grow into this collar but I’m not sure…and still the band is just so wide I guess I didn’t know what to expect but in the end just disappointed that’s all.
